The Story of a Brave Bird

I was on a safari in Ranthambore Tiger reserve when I spotted a beautiful black and white, snake like necked bird which is called an Oriental Darter or Indian Darter and also called Snake Bird. It was around 5 P.M. in the evening and it was sitting on the lake side, looking out for a kill, which will be most probably a fish.

It senses something beneath the water and decides to go after it and it takes off.....

and then catches its prey...

It is very happy that now it has its meal and it's hard work paid off...and is ready to eat it... but wait, before it could begin eating its hard earned prey it finds itself surrounded by peacocks..and one of them gets very much interested to take it away from it....

Then it decides to fight and starts getting ready for it by keeping its prey aside safely...

Calls peacock back ...  stretches its wings to the fullest to appear big and shows that i am ready to knock to down,

peacock realizes that it will not be that easy to get its prey so easily as it was expecting before and leaves. The brave bird gets it's reward back and goes back enjoying it....

Moral of the story -

"Always defend what you have earned hard, do not let it go so easily, it just takes little courage to stand for it..."
