Beetroot Peanut Fry | Beetroot Poriyal


Superfood are the food items which have multiple health benefits and the term is often used as its Unique Selling Point or USP. Beetroot falls under the super food kind.
They have enormous health benefits and that’s exactly why you must consider it regularly in your diet.

Many people chose to have beetroot juice as that makes it easily edible and often mix it with carrot juice. This concoction makes an excellent detox drink. However, if you are doing it, make sure you don’t strain it.Else you loose the essential fiber.

Beetroot helps you to lower the blood pressure, reduces inflammation, increases the hemoglobin level, boosts stamina and has many anti-cancer fighting substance.

It also helps women suffering from PMS like mood swings , bloating etc keep their fluctuating hormones under control.I usually make this simple beetroot poriyal and pair it up with some mango or lemon rice. Try including it in your diet and start noticing the difference.


What You Need:

3 beetroot - peel and grate and keep it aside
2 green chili chopped
2 tbsp peanuts- roasted and crushed
2 tsp grated coconut
salt to taste
pinch of turmeric for antiseptic property
pinch of red chili for tast
few curry leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Hing to taste (optional)
1 tsp oil

Steps To Make:

Heat oil in non stick pan.
Add hing , mustard seeds and let it crackle.
Next throw in some green chilies and curry leaves.
Now goes in the grated beetroot, salt to taste, turmeric powder and red chili powder.
Finally add the crushed peanut and grated coconut.
Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Let the beetroot soften slightly. It shud have slight crunch.
Its ready to be consumed.
Its plain simple good.
