What You Need :
2 cups cooked rice
1 beetroot boiled with skin or 2 minutes in pressure cooker. Peel and chop into small pieces or grate them.
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste
1 cup thick curd
1 tbsp oil or ghee
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp chana dal + 1 tsp peanuts + 1 tsp urad dal + few cashew nuts
Green chili whole
Red chili whole
Chopped coriander leaves
Soak dal for 10 minutes before you start the tempering
Mix rice and curd together
Heat oil in a pan
Add hing, curry leaves and soaked dal and peanuts
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it splutter
Add cashew , green chili, red chili.
Add chopped or grated beetroot.
Add the tempering to rice and curd mixture.
Add salt and sugar to taste
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
